The mission of the Howell Area Fire Authority Cadet Program is to recruit and educate area youth in the general operations of the fire service. The Program will provide a safe learning environment for area youth to experience and learn about a variety of the fire service tasks. Students will learn in a classroom setting as well as in a practical setting. 

• Cadets are age 16 -18 and attend meetings on Wednesday nights at 1900hrs. to sharpen the skill set learned through out the program. These Cadets are invited and encouraged to participate in many other department details as well. The top Cadets from the program maybe offered the training necessary to become a certified Firefighter as well as a position as a Firefighter for the Howell Area Fire Department.
